Second Opinion Process
After contacting SPG with your query and faxing/emailing your pathology report and insurance information we do the following:
- Fax you a release form
- Upon receiving the completed release form, SPG sends out request for slides
- When slides arrive, SPG calls patient to notify of receipt
- Slides are reviewed
- Patient is called with results and case is discussed
- Second opinion report is sent directly to you

DAY 1
SPG faxes patient's completed release forms to request slides to be sent via Fedex at SPG's expense
BUSINESS
DAY 5
Slides Arrive, Patient notified
BUSINESS
DAY 6
Slides Reviewed by SPG Pathologist and patient called
BUSINESS
DAY 7
If case is incompletely worked up, it may take longer for additional studies
BUSINESS
DAY 10-15
Slides returned by Fedex to lab/hospital of origin, if no additional work is required
